20 years of bringing people together through dance, movement, and creative expression
With over 20 years of experience in the arts sector, I create meaningful connections between artists, communities and audiences across the Midlands. My journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to dance, movement and community arts practice, whilst embracing diverse cross-disciplinary collaborations.
I believe that creative expression should be accessible to everyone – whether you're taking your first dance step, experiencing art from the audience, or pursuing your professional practice. As a connector and facilitator, I bring together artists, young people and communities to build platforms where stories can be shared and voices can be heard.
My work centres on creating high-quality, inclusive artistic experiences that open windows to new perspectives and possibilities. Through thoughtfully curated programmes and projects, I help communities discover the transformative power of creativity and self-expression."
Ian Dolan, Dirtmarket
I love to support the development of new work whether that be indoor or outdoor work, with professional artists, young people and/or with community members. I work closely with artists and partners to maximise the potential of the work, by building partnerships, fundraising and supporting other practical logistics that take the work from ideas to fruition. I see my role as enabling and supporting artists and participants to focus on the artistic processes.
I have worked on lots of different projects and events throughout my career, working with a variety of different communities, artists and professionals. I love to work with all different types of people, particularly those who are new to dance and/or theatre. I pride myself on my communication and organisational skills. I am confident in managing all elements of a project/event from ideas, to budgets to licensing. I hold an online up to date DBS.
I am committed to providing opportunities for our current and next generation of artists to be inspired and to develop their artforms. I have managed and delivered on a number of training programmes including; Centre for Advanced Dance Training DanceXchange, Emerge Festivals with The Mighty Creatives & Arts Connect, Strive (Training programme for Artists working with marginalised communities), and numerous programmes with Youth Dance England (now One Dance UK). I am also an Arts Award Advisor for Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Access and Inclusion is integral to the work that I do. I can help to support you to make sure your practice and your work is constantly moving to be more accessible, from very first beginnings of your project to final events and evaluation, and engage those that are often most marginalised and unengaged in arts practice.
