My journey to becoming both a health coach and producer might seem unconventional, but to me it makes total sense and it's a perfect blend of my passions…
Hi, I’m Kirsten, I’m a theatre-loving, dance, aerial-hoop, yoga fan, with two (spirited) children, a fur-baby and a passion for supporting wonderful people to live the life they deserve and want.
As my parents will tell you I spent most my childhood upside down. Fast forward a childhood where moving was my thing, it’s no surprise that I started to become curious about our bodies and our relation to them. Studying both A level human biology and dance, and then applying for a Physiotherapy course at university, and then at the last minute changing to do a BA Hons in Dance, shows my two passions have always been close to my heart.
During my career in the arts world, I have spent many years facilitating growth, motivation and positive change. For me it all comes down to how people feel - that’s why I do what I do. My life’s passion is to work directly with people to help them achieve success – however that looks. I’m a big believer in celebrating the individual, all whilst working together to achieve great things.
My work as a producer reflects this. I have a passion for working with communities, and particularly those disengaged or marginalised. I believe everyone should have access to creative opportunities and experience the incredible benefits of creative practice.
My work as a health coach champions this. Improving health comes in many forms and ways but ultimately my goal is work with people to improve how they feel themselves and in their bodies.
You don't have to do this alone. Join our supportive community of like-minded individuals who are also working towards their health goals. Connect, share, and learn from each other.
I’m a people person, and I always start with getting to know the person I am working with. Understanding their needs and wants are key to a fruitful relationship, whether that’s through a health coaching or producing context. I’m also very conscious of the wider context I am working with, whether this is thinking about audiences or what else might be going on in someones life. I can support the bigger picture whilst also focusing on the detail.
As a passionate dance professional, I've spent over a decade immersed in the vibrant world of dance and arts management. From my early days as a Project Assistant at Dance4 to my current role as a Creative Producer, I've had the privilege of wearing many hats in this dynamic industry. I've nurtured young talent through pre-vocational programs, managed exciting community projects, and even taught dance in Shanghai! My journey has taken me from coordinating youth dance festivals to producing cutting-edge performances with Autin Dance Theatre and Mercurial Dance. I thrive on the creative energy of bringing artists, organisations, and communities together. Whether I'm supporting emerging choreographers, managing arts marketing campaigns, or steering cultural programs for major events like the Commonwealth Games 2022, I'm always excited to dive into new challenges. My experience has taught me that dance has the power to transform lives, and I'm passionate about making it accessible to everyone, from toddlers taking their first dance steps to professional artists pushing the boundaries of their craft.
I have many hobbies - too many to keep up with! I love to go to aerial hoop classes, yoga classes and Brum Pro Class when I get the chance. I don’t feel like me unless I’m moving regularly. I also love to be outside in nature, spending time with my family and the fur baby, so lots of walking, park play and the occasional run. My two strong willed and wild daughters keep me on my toes, but we love spending time being creative, exploring and going on new adventures. I love to travel, experience different cultures and ways of life, so when life allows I’m off exploring the world now with my two mini me’s in tow!
